Step to INSPIRE is a 5K Run/Walk/Roll (with shorter courses available) that raises funds and awareness for Park Nicollet’s award winning INSPIRE Program. Jeff Passolt, FOX 9 News anchor will be our master of ceremonies. Bring your family and friends, and join us in this opportunity to raise much needed funds in support of stroke and brain injury awareness, education and outreach. All early bird registered participants receive a t-shirt and are encouraged to raise additional funds for the INSPIRE program and create teams. You’ll make memories that will last a lifetime! You can see the 2013 event photos here.
The INSPIRE vision is a community where stroke awareness is 100%, it is where stroke and brain injury survivors find resources and purpose while supporting each other. INSPIRE offers support groups and educational opportunities to stroke and brain injury survivors, their families and caregivers. INSPIRE also builds community awareness of stroke risk and symptoms while providing access to the Neurological Learning Center, an informational library for those affected by stroke, brain injuries and other neurological disorders. Stroke Survivor Karen Bjorgan was highlighted in the monthly magazine, Minnesota Medicine.
Money raised supports Park Nicollet’s INSPIRE Program vital programs addressing the emotional and psychological aspects of a long term recovery from stroke and brain injury, including:
- Support Services
- Continuing rehabilitation after formal therapy is complete through groups
- Patient and family education
- Community Outreach
- Neurological Learning Center
- Scholarships used to assist stroke and brain injury survivors as they use our program to continue recovery efforts
